Why We Exist

SolarVisionaries.org was founded by Joe Boyce as a way to help the solar industry and mainstream America come together and better understand what they need to know to create a wide scale adoption of solar technology across North America.

Given the current economic environment, “Green Jobs” have emerged as a critically important component to our long-term competitiveness as a region and a solution to our current employment drought, particularly in the United States. People are interested and intrigued in the promise of a better future through the emergence of solar and other green technologies. Unfortunately there remains a gap in knowledge and skills necessary to help the companies driving the shift from fossil fuels to the new more efficient, cleaner future. This gap exists on both the side of the people interested in the industry, or already involved in the industry who are looking for better opportunities, and on the part of the solar employers, who consistently struggle to find the key talent they need to maintain the rapid pace of growth in their organizations.

Our first solution was a simple one. Create a true Enterprise quality job-board and career management site where solar employers and candidates can easily manage the process of finding a job or hiring the best and brightest to maintain growth. We also offer an introduction to the Solar Visionaries who are driving the industry forward by overcoming the challenges associated with an emerging technology, pressuring the government to remain concerned and take measures to support solar’s growth, and building great businesses that benefit our current and future economic growth while putting people to work.

This is Only the Beginning…

Our mission does not end with simply offering a career and hiring resource to those interested in jobs in the solar industry. In the coming months and years we will continue to drive more interest and affinity for solar among masses of American consumers. Having overcome the technological, financial, and policy hurdles faced by the solar industry in years past, it is now time for us, the Solar Visionaries, to take the next step. We need to behave like a major global energy resource rather than a cottage industry as we have in the past. This will require the introduction of cutting-edge strategies in Corporate Development, Training, Engineering, Finance, and most importantly Marketing and Sales methodology. Solar Visionaries exists to lead this migration, and looks forward to a time when solar power is considered a mainstream energy resource in the U.S. and Canada, releasing the potential for innovation and prosperity beyond what most of us can even imagine today.
