Conergy Solar Success! Day 1
I landed in Phoenix around 11:30 last night and after a little bit of drama trying to find my hotel I was finally able to settle in and see what the week to come would bring.
The American Solar Energy Society (ASES) has hosted their national conference for decades now, and the 2010 event is the best ever. We’re starting with two full days of Workshops for solar integrators and installers as part of the Conergy Solar Success program. If you’re a solar installer, this has got to be the best possible way to stay current on everything that’s happening in the U.S. solar market. The courses cover the latest in technology, installation, and standards, as well as intense training on how to manage the business side of things. This is where I come in.
Tomorrow morning, I’ll be hosting a session simply called “Selling Solar”. This is designed for the start-ups that are brand new or semi-new in the business. The opportunity to present to this audience was not only an honor, but a personal milestone in that it offers the opportunity to work with the companies who represent the future of the industry. These are the “Visionaries” of the next few years, companies who haven’t already developed bad habits that ultimately cost them sales and cost the industry growth, but who can build a modern, efficient business model and the marketing machine to support it. Solar is definitely in it’s “Gold Rush” period, and these newcomers are just starting to dig their own gold mines…
I’m excited to share all the good news about the growth of solar in the U.S. over the past few years, and to help them get in a position to make an absurd amount of money by taking advantage of the shift solar is making into our mainstream energy infrastructure.
It should be quite an experience for all of us… The Future Is Renewable.
